Untitled Adventure Simulator
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
Tech demo for a sandbox adventure game. Work in progress.
- Explore a large open world
- Fight Skeletons at night
- Get some equipment
- Not much else
I'm interested if this combat system feels good, if the game could be built around it? Imagine a future where there are lots of different enemies and interesting items / abilities for you to upgrade your character.
Controls:
- In the world map you can click on a tile to choose your starting location
- Click to move and interact
- Can also use Numpad or VI keys to move
- Tab / Spacebar to autotarget to the nearest enemy or item
- 1-9 to use items / cast spells
- I to open inventory
- Z to open spells
- WASD To rotate camera
Known Issues / Bugs:
- Healthbars are ugly and don't always render in the correct order
- Billboarded objects (trees) don't face correctly when viewing the game top down. In the future I'd like these to behave exactly the same as units / items.
- Lighting is bugged, torches will not always light their full radius
- Lights are added together strictly additively, resulting in lights that are sometimes much too bright
- Grass is not lit correctly
- When swimming in water you have to click on the very bottom sea floor to move to that tile, instead of just the top of the water
- Campfires from sticks don't light properly, and don't remove the stick from your inventory
- A bunch of other stuff
